American Diabetes Association
Since the road to obesity and the road to diabetes is often a parallel road, much of the information offered to diabetics also serves as good advise on avoiding obesity.

American Dietetic Association
The American Dietetic Association provides information and tips on maintaining a healthy diet. Included is a "Find a Dietitian" service.

American Heart Association
The American Heart Association offers tips on health, meal planning, cooking and exercise programs since part of maintaining a healthy heart is avoiding obesity. Patient education material as well as information for researchers is available.

Canadian Dietitians
This website is maintained by the Dietitians of Canada and provides information on food choices, activity patterns, and healthy weight. It also furnishes personalized feedback to help achieve healthy eating habits, maintain active living goals, and answer nutrition questions.

Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion

Everything you want to know about food content in terms of fats, carbohydrates, protein, sodium and other nutrients can be found on this easy-to-use site. Choose from a host of foods and immediately click to find their nutrition data. The familiar USDA Nutrition Facts label is listed for each food. The food in question is also pinpointed on a nutrient triangle graphically showing percentages of carbohydrates, fats and protein.

Nutrition Education
This site serves as a gateway to nutrition information across the agencies of the Federal Government.
